Beara Breifne Cycling Route

The Beara Breifne Cycling Route follows the historic march of O’ Sullivan Bere from the Beara Peninsula in West Cork to the Leitrim / Cavan area.
The route crosses 6 mountain ranges and follows quiet country roads linking in to the towns and villages along the way.
Numerous sections have been developed. The section in Mhuscrai area in County Cork start at Keakill follows the R584 over the pass of Keimaneigh rises up to 200m on to the famous valley of Gougane Barra and into to the Irish speaker area of Ballingeary. From Ballingeary the route rises up 300m over the mountain pass on to Ballyvourney . The route leaves the Irish speaking area and rises up into the pass between Mullaghanish and Knockullane Mountains 390m the route drops down to the town of Millstreet |
